The Sweetest Song
The sweetest song has gone
Into a dusky dream
To carry thoughts on
In inter flowing stream
Awaking longing's long
That hasn't been fulfilled
The song in purest song
That world has tried and stilled
Oh come thy purest bloom
And bring your purest free
Into this grayness gloom
That gives its flounder's key
The dim of winters own
All boundaries changed to taste
Let it in breeze be blown
And brought into its waste
Oh sweetest tune there is
To chant about and admire
A tune these entireties miss
In each its ways and desire
True pleasures not forgotten
Build on strength and wisdom
Not in the duration trotten'
Like now's vogue and accustom
